Emergency Averted (hopefully)
More info to come, but after hours (and hours) spent on the phone both yesterday and today I have gotten confirmation that everything *should* be back on track with MCHA. If all goes as promised right now, I *will* have coverage for my surgery which is scheduled to begin this Friday. It was a rough 24 hours, but I think everything will be OK now.

Very very glad to hear this. And very sorry you had to spend today in hell to get here.
What John said. And Kelly. The whole system is horribly broken. You should be able to concentrate on getting well, not whether you have insurance to cover it.
thanks be to those who require thanking... i'm sorry you ever had to deal with this, and so glad it's over.
And we don't need health care reform....right!
Anyway, kudos to you for pursuing this issue under this kind of pressure....glad it's been averted!!!
Hallelujah! However, worrier that I am, my fingers are crossed and they will be until all the right papers are in your hands.
Love, Mom
Holy crap dude!!!!! Just catching up. Man! I'm totally steaming angry, but relieved to hear that the MCHA folks are making it happen. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Damn, man. What a system.
When I was in the hospital a few years back the insurance companies all played a serious round of **ck-with-my-head. I became convinced that they wait till they know you are at your worst and defenseless so they can get out of paying.
I am sorry you have to do this now, while you are least able to deal with it. I am glad you seem to be getting to good answers. I am holding you, your biopsy, and your insurance woes in my thoughts, and sending all the good energy I can!
Rachael
Thanks all! I'm glad also. I still find a way to be a little worried about the result until I have my insurance card in hand, but then that's in my nature. :)
