Fabulous news

I just talked to MCHA, calling to make sure they'd gotten the termination fax from Friday. "Yeah, that was approved," the dude said, after calling up my file. I was only expecting him to be confirming the receipt of fax. "... that was approved today, retroactive to 10/1." he says. He has no idea what a great piece of news this is for me: I will *not* have to personally be responsible for the $66,745 that the mayo surgery cost. He told me how to go online and print out the claim forms. I'll have an I.D. Number in a few days.

Huge sigh of relief.

Wonderful! What a relief. So sorry you've had all this unnecessary stress over your insurance. I hope that reducing the stress will lessen your pain also.

Amazing! Totally, totally, great news! I can feel the stress sliding off your shoulders and mine too. Now you can concentrate on healing and getting through the next few days. See you Wednesday.

So happy for you, Michael. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard in your support as well. You know, since you are a writer, I suggest that when the dust settles and you get your strength and comfort back, you use the material in this blog to write up your experience and see if a local publication will print it. Others should know of the horrors you endured at the hands of the bureaucracy and also the determination with which you handled it. I am sure many with less resolve and education suffer greatly at the hands of these....monsters. Best wishes and get well now! Wendy A.

What a relief! Congratulations.

Remind me to tell you of the time my mom removed her own catheter, the punch line of the story being, she doesn't recommend it.
